Apple iPad leaks lead to jail time in China

The court sentenced two former employees of Hon Hai Industries — which trades under the name Foxconn and manufactures the iPad — to prison for accepting bribes in exchange for images of the tablet six months before it was announced.

According to the report, Xiao Chengsong, the general manager of an electronics management company, offerered discounted products and about $3,000 in cash to Hou Pengna, a former Hon Hai employee. Pengna then paid then-employee Lin Kecheng for images of the back of the device.

Lin was sentenced to 14 months and fined around $15,000, and Hou was sentenced to a year in prison and fined for about $5,000. Xiao was sentenced to 18 months in prison ordered to pay about $23,000 in fines.
