AT&T slashes iPad prices

(Johannes Eisele - AFP/Getty Images)
Prices for the original iPad continue to fall as the iPad 2 AT&T has cut the price of the original iPad 3G by $200-$300 in its online store. The 16 GB iPad is now $429 in the AT&T store, and the 32GB and 64GB tablets are $529.

Apple dropped the price of the original iPad shortly after unveiling the iPad 2 this month. The original iPad 3G was only made for the AT&T network. (Verizon customers could use their network by purchasing the wi-fi version of the iPad and a wireless card.)

Data plans with this deal will run you $14.99 a month for 250 MB and $25 per month for 2 GB.

Reviews for the iPad 2 have been good but not gushing, and suggest that it’s not absolutely necessary to upgrade. That means this could be a great deal for the holdouts.
