Call of Duty: Black Ops mutiplayer servers down for maintenance

The mutiplayer wasn’t working for some Wii, PlayStation 3 and PC players Tuesday morning as the Call of Duty: Black Ops servers underwent some maintenance.

Some PS3, PC, and Wii players may experience temporary difficulties connecting right now during a datacenter maintenance window.Tue Jun 21 08:03:45 via Twitter for iPhone

Players weren’t happy about the downtime, and the fact that the servers were working fine for XBox 360 players seemed to make matters worse.

XBox players will be the first to get the next Black Ops DLC, Annihilation. The new map pack hits the Microsoft console on June 28, but there’s no word yet on when it will be released for the other platforms.

According to Kotaku’s Brian Crecente, the game’s four new maps — Hangar 18, Drive-In, Silo and Hazard — give players a chance to mix close- and long-range combat.
