CES 2012: What is this #MysteryGadget?

The 2012 Consumer Electronics Show officially kicked off Tuesday. Amid the sometimes familiar televisions and appliances that are trotted out for critics and buyers are a whole host of gadgets whose uses aren’t as obvious.

Yesterday, we posted Parrot's AR Drone 2.0 and asked you to identify it. Several of you made a positive ID.

For Wednesday’s gadget, Washington Post videographer AJ Chavar snapped a picture of this contraption at the show. What do you think it is?

Tell us on Twitter:

What do you think this piece of equipment is or does? Is it for work or play? Tell us what you think, using the hash tag #mysterygadget on Twitter, and we'll post some responses here. We'll reveal the name and function of the device Thursday morning.
