E3 2011: Halo 4, voice control and the cloud

E3 officially kicked off Tuesday, but Microsoft has already made some big announcements regarding the Xbox, the Kinect and, yes, the cloud.

Probably the biggest announcements out of the briefing yesterday were about Halo, the wildly popular series from Bungie. In addition to announcing that they’re remaking the original Halo with better graphic and online co-op gameplay, the studio also offered a peek at Halo 4:

Microsoft also offered a look at several other games, including Modern Warfare 3, Tomb Raider, Kinect Star Wars and Mass Effect 3, just one of the many things on the Xbox that’s getting Kinect voice integration.

Gamers will also be able to use their voices to control the XBox dashboard. Other new features Microsoft announced for the XBox include Bing search for Xbox Marketplace, Hulu, Netflix and YouTube, and cloud storage for gamer tags, achievements, profiles and game saves.
