Google links up “plus-one” button with Google Plus

Google will now let you share content through its +1 button. (David Paul Morris - BLOOMBERG)
Google’s +1 button, which has perplexed users since its introduction in March, actually does something, the company announced Wednesday.

Google said that the button will now let users share content on their Google+ profiles. It will also let publishers have some control over what shows up in a site description — what the company’s calling a “snippet” — on the social network.

Google’s Timothy Jordan explained the new features in a video posted to the company’s blog.
