Quick Tip: Set a custom Gmail background

Plenty of people keep their webmail open all day, so why not make it a little more personal?

Gmail has had themes and custom colors for quite a while, but now you can add your own images to make the page uniquely yours.Google announced the option today to let Gmail users set their own desktop backgrounds on its webmail client.

Here’s how to do it:

1) Sign into Gmail and select “Themes” from your mail settings options.

2) Head to the last theme option, “Create your own theme.”

3) Select the background area, and hit the “Select” link under “Background Image” to upload an image or select one from your Picasa album. You can load pictures for your main background and your footer.
