Report: Amazon prepping two Android tablets

According to Boy Genius Report, Amazon isn’t just planning to step into the tablet market, it’s leaping in with two super-fast tablets codenamed “Coyote” and “Hollywood.”

Coyote is said to be based on the NVIDIA Tegra 2 platform, while the Hollywood may have the quad-core Kal-El processor, making it ridiculously fast.

BGR has a decent track record when it comes to leaks, though these appear to be very preliminary plans. The report said there’s no word yet on the screen size of either rumored tablet, though the site expects to see the gadgets on the market by the end of the year. Taiwanese tech site Digitimes reported a couple of weeks ago that Amazon has already started production on a tablet with color touchscreen display.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos gave a winking, sort-of confirmation on an Amazon tablet in the future during an interview with Consumer Reports last week.
