Report: AT&T veep says iPhone 5 coming in early October

An AT&T exec reportedly told his managers that the iPhone 5 launch will make for a busy October. (Chris Goodney - BLOOMBERG)
Citing a “high-level AT&T”source, Boy Genius Report let loose with an article Friday saying that a vice president at AT&T has told employees that the iPhone 5 will go on sale in early October.

The report said that the exec told a group of managers, “Expect things to get really, really busy in the next 35-50 days, so prepare your teams accordingly.”

An early October release date would likely put the iPhone announcement likely sometime in late September.

It’s been widely expected that Apple will launch its next handset in September, after bucking its usually scheduled summer release.

In Verizon’s last earnings call, CEO Lowell McAdam said he expected the iPhone would be coming this fall.
