Report: iPhone components surface for new phone

Pictures of components said to be from the new iPhone indicate few differences from the iPhone 4. (Laura J. Gardner - AP)
Images of components supposedly included in the iPhone 5 have popped up on TVC Mall, an iPhone parts supply company. Pictures of a battery, back-camera lens and headphone/earphone jack labeled as being part of the “iPhone 5” were spotted by MacRumors on Monday.

MacRumors compared the new components to their iPhone 4 counterparts, finding there were few significant differences.

The battery looks to be virtually identical, and the camera and flash seem to be very close to what’s in the iPhone 4, the site reported. Some had speculated that Apple was going to further separate the lens and flash to prevent light from the flash leaking over to obscured pictures, but that doesn’t appear to be the case if the parts are legitimate.

The site itself didn’t offer many clues as to what the next iPhone would look like — and, of course, we won’t know anything for sure until Apple actually releases the phone.
