Zynga gets sheepish about its new release

Zynga may be contemplating an initial public offering down the line, but the company’s latest trip to Wall Street was not about bears and bulls. It was about sheep.

To advertise its latest release, FarmVille English Countryside, the game company herded sheep through the streets of New York and London. FarmVille players can reach the English Countryside section of the game after reaching level 20, giving them access to a second farm site in the country and English-themed goods to buy.

In conjunction with the release — and the sheep — the company is giving away five trips to London as well as Farm Cash prizes. Players must be over level 20 and have visited their second farm in the English Countryside to enter.

A strange promotion? Perhaps. But the sheep are very cute.
