The severe storm in the Washington area on Friday was not strong enough to close the federal government on Monday.
“Federal agencies in the Washington, D.C., area are OPEN and employees have the OPTION for UNSCHEDULED LEAVE OR UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK,” an Office of Personnel Management announcement said Sunday.
OPM said “non-emergency employees must notify their supervisor of their intent to use unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework.”
