Thanks to Joe Scarborough, who plugged the Federal Diary column about the prosecution of Sen. Ted Stevens on his “Morning Joe” show on MSNBC.
The column said actions by federal employees, described in detail in a report about prosecutorial misconduct in the corruption trial of the late Alaska Republican, dishonored the Justice Department. The Stevens conviction was dismissed.
Scarborough said, “Ted Stevens died with a cloud over his head; that cloud is now over the Justice Department.”
