No snow day for D.C.’s federal workers Friday

January 25, 2013

It’s cold, and a light dusting of snow might occur along the Beltway starting Friday afternoon. But federal offices in the D.C. area will remain open, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

Federal workers have the option of using unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework, but non-emergency employees must notify their supervisors of their intent to use those alternatives, the agency announced Thursday evening.

Emergency Employees must report to their worksites on time unless otherwise directed by their agencies, according to OPM.

Good luck out there, folks. And happy Friday! If you’re teleworking, try to stay on task.
