After the Redskins’ flurry of moves on Wednesday, a lot of fans felt the team might have stockpiled too many receivers. Apparently, that sentiment was shared outside the fanbase, as well, and it appears Brandon Stokley will not be a member of the Redskins.
Stokley’s agent, Rick Smith, tweeted Thursday morning that the Redskins had too many receivers and his client would not be heading to Washington after all.
That leaves the Redskins with at least 13 receivers to begin training camp. But cuts could be taking place all day, so we’ll see what number they have when they hit the practice field for the first time Friday morning.
Stokley is a 35-year-old veteran who’s been in the league for 13 years, most recently with Seattle.
