Albert Haynesworth ‘not quite ready’ to practice

You thought you had heard the last of Albert Haynesworth and conditioning tests, right?

Wrong.

The trade to send the defensive lineman to New England officially went through Friday, but the Big Fella was not on the field for the Patriots’ morning session on Saturday, according to the Boston Herald’s Ian Rapoport.

Noting Haynesworth’s absence, reporters asked about the Patriots’ new addition, and coach Bill Belichick said only, “He’s not quite ready to practice yet.”

The coach was then asked if it was injury related.

Belichick replied, “When he’s ready, he’ll be out there.” Belichick also added that the absence wasn’t a holdout of some sort.

The coach finally said, “there are things that we still need to do with Albert for him to be able to get on the practice field.”
