After missing four straight days of practice because of a sore knee, Brandon Banks was in pads Monday and had limited participation in practice. The pain isn’t entirely gone, he said, but he’s healthy enough to do some work
“Not quite all the way, but I’m getting there,” Banks said following Monday’s practice.
It’s a big training camp for Banks, as he tries to show coaches that he has the speed that made him a fan favorite in the first half of last season. The same knee he had surgery on last year has been giving him problems early in camp.
“He’s feeling much better,” Shanahan said. “]I] watched him at wide receiver in some of the one-on-one drills. He looked like he wasn’t favoring anything, so that’s a big plus. He’s a natural as a punt returner and as a kick returner.”
With 10 other receivers in camp, Banks knows that every day is an opportunity, so he seemed happy to be back with his teammates for drill work Monday.
“I’ve been very anxious,” he said. “That’s why I’m back out here today.”
