Chris Neild is the only nose tackle at Redskins workout

As he was last month, rookie Chris Neild again is the only nose tackle here as Redskins players gather for group workouts. The West Virginia product counts that as a positive.

It allows him to receive one-on-one training from defensive end Kedric Golston, the only other defensive lineman onhand, and it means Neild gets all the snaps when players run their base plays.

Neild said last month that he was able to soak up the defense more quickly. Obviously having a coach out on the field would help as well. But the seventh-rounder believes this is the next best thing.

Mike Jones covers the Washington Redskins for The Washington Post. When not writing about a Redskins development of some kind – which is rare – he can be found screaming and cheering at one of his kids’ softball, baseball, soccer or basketball games.
