Darrel Young suffers concussion

The Washington Redskins lost starting fullback Darrel Young to a concussion early in Sunday’s game, but coach Mike Shanahan didn’t have an update on the second-year pro following the 23-17 victory.

“We’ll find out more in the next couple days,” Shanahan said.

Young had two catches for 22 yards (including a long of 21), but made way for Mike Sellers in the second quarter.

Sellers, used sparingly this season, recorded one catch for 15 yards.

Young has started four of the nine games in which he has played this season, recording one carry for seven yards and seven catches for 65 yards.

Mike Jones covers the Washington Redskins for The Washington Post. When not writing about a Redskins development of some kind – which is rare – he can be found screaming and cheering at one of his kids’ softball, baseball, soccer or basketball games.
