Wide receiver Dezmon Briscoe had a touchdown catch for a second straight game as he tries to earn a spot on the Washington Redskins’ season-opening roster.

“It’s very important,” Briscoe said. “You know it’s preseason — how this business goes, if you don’t produce, you usually have a tough time making the team.”
Briscoe caught a touchdown pass from rookie quarterback Kirk Cousins in the Redskins’ second preseason game in Chicago. His touchdown Saturday was delivered by Rex Grossman.
“He’s had a couple opportunities and taken advantage of those opportunities,” Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan said of Briscoe, who was claimed by the Redskins off waivers last month after he was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
