Robert Griffin III’s four-year, $21 million contract is dwarfed by the paychecks of some of Washington’s most highly-paid athletes (though his $13.8 million signing bonus would put him atop the list if combined with his $390,000 first-year salary).
The group includes a few surprise names and others you’d probably expect. Here’s a look:
Emeka Okafor (Wizards): $13.6 million ($72 million over six years).
Jayson Werth (Nationals): $13.6 million ($126 million over seven years).
Nene (Wizards): $13 million ($67 million over five years).
Ryan Zimmerman (Nationals): $12 million ($150 million over six years ).
Trent Williams (Redskins): $11 million ($60 million over six years).
Edwin Jackson (Nationals): $11 million (One-year contract).
Alex Ovechkin (Capitals): $9 million ($124 million over 13 years).
Adam LaRoche (Nationals): $8 million ($16 million over two years).
