Jammal Brown trying to play Sunday against the Giants

Right tackle Jammal Brown hopes he’ll be available Sunday at the New York Giants, but he won’t know his exact status until later in the week.

“If I can go, I’m gonna go,” Brown said Wednesday morning.

Brown aggravated his injured left groin during pregame warmups in last Sunday’s loss to New England. He was unable to play in the game and Tyler Polumbus took his place at right tackle.

“I’ve had some time to rest it,” Brown said. “It definitely feels better, but it’s pretty painful. We’re just going to see how that goes and keep getting treatment.”

Brown originally injured the groin Nov. 6 against San Francisco. Asked if he returned too quickly from that injury -- he missed just one game -- Brown said “possibly. That could’ve been the problem.

“I got back pretty quick, but I felt good,” he said.
