Beck late in Saturday’s practice took off scrambling to avoid the rush, and ended up tweaking his groin. He and coach Mike Shanahan both said they thought it was not serious. Washington was off on Sunday, which helped Beck. He took one snap during positional drills early in Monday’s practice and watched Rex Grossman, Ben Chappell and Marc Verica on the rest. Later, Beck took part in drills, throwing to receivers.
Back on the field were tight end Chris Cooley and receiver Brandon Banks, who sat out the last two and four days of practice, respectively, both with knee injuries.
Rookie linebacker Ryan Kerrigan took part in positional drills for the first time since suffering a bone bruise in his right knee on July 29.
Still sidelined were wideout Malcolm Kelly, with a foot injury, and running back Ryan Torain (broken hand).
Safety O.J. Atogwe also wasn’t in pads for Monday morning’s practice, and neither was Clint Oldenburg, who missed the last two practices with an illness. Quarterback Kellen Clemens was not in attendance.
Tackle Jammal Brown, who attended a funeral on Saturday, was back in practice today. And joining the team for the first time were linebacker Keyaron Fox and defensive lineman Doug Worthington, who both signed over the weekend.
