Starting strong safety LaRon Landry and starting left guard Maurice Hurt both missed practice for a second straight day Thursday, according to the team’s injury report.
Landry sat with a sore Achilles’ tendon, but said Thursday morning that the move was “precautionary” and that he felt confident that he would play on Sunday. Hurt, one of the team’s seventh-round draft picks in April, sat with a knee injury. Also sidelined for a second straight day were backup linebacker Keyaron Fox (infection) and backup receiver Niles Paul (turf toe).
A day after sitting out practice with a sprained ankle, inside linebacker London Fletcher took snaps in a limited capacity. Also limited in practice were right tackles Jammal Brown (groin) and Sean Locklear (ankle). Full practice participants despite injuries were free safety Oshiomogho Atogwe (toe, knee), running back Tashard Choice (hamstring), safety Reed Doughty (chest) and tight end Logan Paulsen (shoulder).
The Cowboys listed wide receiver Miles Austin (hamstring), fullback Tony Fiammetta (illness) cornerback Mike Jenkins (hamstring) and backup quarterback Jon Kitna (back) as non-participants in Thursday’s practice. Fiammetta had been limited in practice on Wednesday, but couldn’t take part at all on Thursday. Limited in practice on Thursday were running back Felix Jones (ankle) and guard Kyle Kosier (foot).
Full participants despite injuries were linebacker Sean Lee (wrist) and punter Mat McMriar (foot).
