LB Markus White suffers a fractured rib and bruised kidney

August 16, 2012

Linebacker Markus White suffered a fractured rib and bruised kidney in Wednesday’s practice and is out for Saturday’s game against the Chicago Bears, Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said.

Shanahan said his starters will play around 30 to 35 plays this week against Chicago.

The coach said that Alfred Morris, Tristan Davis and Evan Royster will get the bulk of the carries at running back, but Shanahan declined to name a starter.

He saidoffensive linemen Trent Williams, Maurice Hurt and Chris Chester, all of whom practiced today, are still questionable. The coach expects Williams and Hurt to play, but said that isn’t definite.

Linebacker London Fletcher received a veteran’s day off.
