ISO: Memories of Super Bowl XXVI

But for people who lived through it, the 1991-1992 season — culminating in the Minneapolis Super Bowl and the commanding win over Buffalo — was an awesome time. Many pundits like to say that the 1983 team — which went 14-2 and lost in the Super Bowl — was actually Joe Gibbs’s best. But the 1991 version led the league in points scored with more than 30 a game, was second in points allowed, had an NFL-best +18 turnover margin and gave up a grand total of nine sacks. That’s also pretty insane.

I’ve done a couple blog posts on the coverage from 20 years ago — see here and here — and The Post has some amazing stuff planned for later this week. But we also want to solicit help from the fans who lived through and still relish that incredible season.

So let this be a call-out. We want your memories, and we want your images — of you in Minnesota, of your Super Bowl memorabilia, of the parade, of you crying tears of joy in your living room while wearing He-Man pajamas. Your best memories of that season can be submitted below, and please upload your images here. We hope to have a cool gallery and collection of memories by the end of the week.
