“For some reason it got through the shield. I guess it came up under my helmet,” the quarterback said. “But it was no big deal. I just wanted to get myself together for the second half.”
With 8:34 left in the third quarter, Vick picked up five yards, but received a crushing blow from Landry. Vick had to be helped off the field, but according to the quarterback, he wasn’t woozy, as he appeared to be.
“I thought he was out myself, just figured, ‘OK, he’s out of there.’” Landry said. “But he was back in there, he’s a fighter.”
Rex Grossman threw an interception two plays later, and Vick returned with his offense following that turnover.
Vick on the game completed 18 of 31 passes for 237 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
