NFL draft 2012: New Era unveils the Redskins cap Robert Griffin III will wear

(Courtesy New Era)

New Era is now the official on-field cap designer for the NFL, and the company has passed on a sneak peek of what this year’s Redskins draft cap will look like.

Last year’s draft cap, made by Reebok and worn by Ryan Kerrigan, was a black cap with the Redskins logo in the center and burgundy and gold accents along the side and brim.

This year’s look features a burgundy cap with a white face and gold bill. “WASHINGTON” is stitched in bold burgundy across the front, over the top of a large team logo, which is stitched in shiny white threads.

New Era also has an all burgundy version of the cap, but Griffin will wear the cap pictured above.
