Oshiomogho Atogwe not ruled out for Sunday

Safety Oshiomogho Atogwe (knee) has been forced to watch practice all week, but Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan won’t rule him out of Sunday’s game at Carolina. Atogwe will be listed as questionable when the injury report is released Friday afternoon.

Atogwe was unable to practice Wednesday and Thursday. Asked whether Atogwe was able to go Friday, Shanahan said, “not really.”

“We didn’t want to push him,” the coach said. “But he’s definitely not ruled out.”

If Atogwe is unable to play, safety Reed Doughty would likely get the call in his place.

Shanahan said cornerback Byron Westbrook would be ruled out. Westbrook injured his hamstring in practice Wednesday. Phillip Buchanon likely will make his season debut Sunday in Westbrook’s place.

Cornerback DeAngelo Hall (toe) was limited Thursday but practiced fully Friday.
