Pros vs. Joes game to battle teen homelessness

In Between The Lines Sports – the foundation of Former Washington Redskins defensive lineman Del Cowsette – will host its first annual Pros vs. Joes benefit flag football game from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, July 30 at Community Church in Ashburn.

Charging $10 per person and $5 per child (ages 4 to 12), Cowsette’s goal is to raise funds to assist homeless teens in Loudoun County. There currently are about 600 homeless teenagers in Loudoun County, according to Between The Lines Sports.

The game, which features Cowsette — a former University Maryland standout who played for Washington in 2001 and 2002 — and fellow former Redskins taking on a team led by the hosts of 106.7 The Fan’s Kevin and Rock Show. The day’s events also include appearances by the Hogettes, a silent auction, live music, youth sports activities and autograph sessions.

Redskins expected to be on hand include LaDell Betts, Reggie Evans, Mark Stock, Ravyn Caldwell, Ed Simmons, Eddie Mason, Jimmy Jones, Pat Fischer, Charley Taylor and others.

The Community Church/Virginia Academy football field is located at 19790 Ashburn Road. Gates open at 9 a.m.
