Redskins add WR David Anderson

Desperate for playmakers for their struggling offense, the Washington Redskins have added wide receiver David Anderson to the mix, according to an NFL.com report.

Anderson, a sixth-year veteran out of Colorado State University, has spent all of his career with the Houston Texans, where he played under then-offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan from 2008 to 2009.

The 5-foot-10, 193-pound Anderson’s most productive season came in 2009, when he started eight games for the Texans, and recorded 38 catches for 370 yards. Anderson appeared in all 16 games for the Texans during the two seasons Shanahan served as offensive coordinator.

He was cut by Houston earlier this season.

It’s not immediately clear whom the Redskins cut from the 53-man roster to make room for Anderson, who for his career has 82 catches for 895 yards and three touchdowns.
