Redskins’ Josh Morgan hopes to practice Monday afternoon

Wide receiver Josh Morgan participated in the Washington Redskins’ morning walk-through Monday and said he would speak to the team’s coaching staff to determine whether he will be permitted to take part in practice Monday afternoon at Redskins Park. Morgan has been sidelined for a week by a strained left hamstring.

“We’re just going to take it slow, keep following what the trainers say, keep following what the coaches tell me to do, just take it one day at a time,” Morgan said.

Morgan missed the final 11 games of last season, when he was with the San Francisco 49ers, because of a broken right leg. He signed with the Redskins as a free agent in March.

He said he’s pleased with his progress from last season’s injury.

“I’ve really had a chance to test it now competitively out here…. I think I’ve just gotten more comfortable with it,” Morgan said.
