The Washington Redskins reportedly plan to have multiple visits with quarterback Robert Griffin III at Baylor, the school at which he won the Heisman Trophy this past season, in the coming weeks.
Comcast reported that Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan was in Waco, Tex., on Friday to visit Griffin and will visit Griffin “a couple times each week.”
Such on-campus visits are permissible under NFL rules.
Redskins General Manager Bruce Allen said in an e-mail to the league-owned NFL Network: “No different than any of the previous years — we send our coaches to college campus for player evaluations. In the coming weeks, we will be visiting some other colleges.”
Allen did not respond to a request for further comment.
The Redskins are widely expected to select Griffin with the second overall choice in the NFL draft this month.
