Redskins safety LaRon Landry will miss Patriots game

Safety LaRon Landry (groin) will miss a second game in a row. Coach Mike Shanahan has ruled him out for Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots. The Redskins will likely use Reed Doughty and rookie DeJon Gomes in his place.

Shanahan said that nose tackle Chris Baker will also be unavailable. Baker was added to the 53-man roster on Tuesday but pulled a quadriceps muscle Wednesday prior to practice.

Shanahan would not reveal whether veteran Sean Locklear or rookie Willie Smith will replace Trent Williams at left tackle.

Shanahan also said he wasn’t yet certain which players would replace Williams as an offensive captain.

Punter Sav Rocca should be healthy enough to play.

Army-Navy will be played Saturday at FedEx Field. Shanahan said anytime there’s another game played on your home field the same weekend, a coach is going to be concerned about field conditions.
