Redskins to host cornerback Aaron Ross on Friday

The Washington Redskins will host free agent cornerback Aaron Ross on Friday as they look to bolster their secondary, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed.

The 6-foot, 190-pound Ross, who has spent all five of his pro seasons with the New York Giants, last season recorded 60 tackles while starting 15 of 16 games. The Redskins are believed to be looking for a third cornerback to team with DeAngelo Hall and Josh Wilson.

The Texas product recorded four interceptions and 12 pass breakups last season.

Ross made a base salary of $1.25 million for the Giants last season.

Mike Jones covers the Washington Redskins for The Washington Post. When not writing about a Redskins development of some kind – which is rare – he can be found screaming and cheering at one of his kids’ softball, baseball, soccer or basketball games.
