Santana Moss is injured

Wide receiver Santana Moss injured his left hand late in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Panthers. His return is questionable.

Moss, Washington’s leading wide receiver, stood on the sideline during the second quarter with his hand heavily wrapped.

Including Moss, six key Redskins players who started a week ago are out.

Tight end Chris Cooley, left tackle Trent Williams, left guard Kory Lichtensteiger, quarterback Rex Grossman, running back Ryan Torain all aren’t playing this week because of injury or demotion (Grossman and Torain). Will Montgomery is now playing left tackle instead of center.

Rookie Niles Paul lined up in Mosss’ spot during the second quarter.

Mike Jones covers the Washington Redskins for The Washington Post. When not writing about a Redskins development of some kind – which is rare – he can be found screaming and cheering at one of his kids’ softball, baseball, soccer or basketball games.
