Cornerback DeAngelo Hall was sick and missed the Washington Redskins‘ practice Friday. Coach Mike Shanahan said Hall had the flu and listed the cornerback as probable to play in Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons at FedEx Field.
Third cornerback Cedric Griffin will miss the game because of his hamstring injury, Shanahan said. The Redskins also will be without safety Brandon Meriweather for a fifth straight game because of his injured left knee.
Shanahan said he’s hopeful that wide receiver Pierre Garcon and left tackle Trent Williams will be closer to 100 percent Sunday after practicing this week. Garcon returned to the lineup last weekend after missing two games because of a foot injury.
Williams played the entire game last Sunday in Tampa despite a bone bruise on his right knee.
The Redskins listed running back and kick returner Brandon Banks as probable because of a hip injury and reserve running back Evan Royster as questionable due to a knee injury.
Former Redskins tight end Chris Cooley stopped by the locker room at Redskins Park on Friday. Cooley reiterated that he remains interested in playing for the Redskins this season if a need arises for the team but said he’s otherwise happy with his life away from football.
