Robert Griffin III to start as expected, Pierre Garcon out with foot injury

Pierre Garcon will miss a third game with a right foot injury.

The Washington Redskins will start Robert Griffin III at quarterback, as expected. And they will be without wide receiver Pierre Garcon, who continues to battle a lingering right foot injury, the team announced today.

Garcon injured the foot in the season opener against New Orleans and missed the following two games before returning two games ago against Tampa Bay.

Garcon went through full practices Wednesday and Thursday, but was limited Friday. The foot strain, which is located near the ball of his foot, remains sore and he is unable to push off of it.

Griffin suffered a concussion last week but hasn’t had any lingering symptoms and will start as expected.

Leonard Hankerson and Josh Morgan will start at wide receiver for Washington.

Also inactive for the Redskins will be cornerback Cedric Griffin (hamstring), safety Brandon Meriweather (knee), quarterback Rex Grossman, rookie linemen Josh LeRibeus and Adam Gettis and defensive end Doug Worthington (calf).

Cedric Griffin has missed the last two games.
