Minnesota Vikings linebacker Erin Henderson was given a roughing-the-passer penalty for a relatively modest shove of Washington Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III following a second-quarter incompletion Sunday.

“I mean, he hit me good,” Griffin said, eliciting laughs from reporters at his postgame news conference. “It wasn’t like a basketball flop. But I sold it pretty well. I mean, the ball was clearly gone, guys. It was a great job of me and the ref being on the same page.”

The Vikings also were assessed a 15-yard personal foul for a horse-collar tackle by safety Harrison Smith on Griffin at the end of a third-quarter run.

Griffin was playing one week after suffering a concussion during a loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
