The Washington Redskins appear to be lining up another punter in the event that Sav Rocca is unable to play Sunday against the New York Giants.

The team plans to work out former Eagles punter Chas Henry on Friday and give him a physical, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed Thursday evening.  Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan first reported the development.

Rocca was limited by an injury to the knee of his right, kicking, leg during each of the last two practices. It wasn’t clear when Rocca suffered his injury. He handled the field goal holder duties during the portion of Thursday’s practice that was open to the media.

The Redskins also are on their second place-kicker and second long-snapper of the season.

Henry punted for the Eagles all of last season, and during three games this season.

Mike Jones covers the Washington Redskins for The Washington Post. When not writing about a Redskins development of some kind – which is rare – he can be found screaming and cheering at one of his kids’ softball, baseball, soccer or basketball games.
