Griffin named NFL rookie of week

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was named the NFL’s rookie of the week for last weekend’s games.

Griffin ran for two touchdowns and threw for another in the Redskins’ 38-26 triumph last Sunday over the Minnesota Vikings at FedEx Field.

His 76-yard touchdown run sealed the outcome.

Griffin has won the rookie award three times in six weeks this season.
