Garcon missed practice again Friday because of the inflamed capsule near the second toe of his right foot.
The Redskins listed him as doubtful on their injury report and Coach Mike Shanahan said Garcon would play only if another wide receiver is hurt.
The team also had plans to audition three punters later Friday, Shanahan said. Former Philadelphia Eagles punter Chas Henry is in that group.
Redskins punter Sav Rocca hurt his knee Wednesday while jogging.
According to Shanahan, the team planned to pick a potential replacement for Rocca after Friday’s workout. The Redskins will have Rocca test his knee injury Saturday to determine whether he can punt against the Giants, Shanahan said.
According to Shanahan, the team planned to list fullback Darrel Young (hamstring) and cornerbacks David Jones (Achilles’ tendon) and Cedric Griffin (hamstring) as questionable on the injury report, along with Rocca.
Cornerback DeAngelo Hall (knee), defensive tackle Barry Cofield (shoulder), defensive end Doug Worthington (calf) and tight end Fred Davis (knee) will be listed as probable, he said.
Safety Jordan Pugh, who suffered a concussion during last Sunday’s win over the Minnesota Vikings, will be listed as questionable, Shanahan said.
