Griffin earned consideration after completing 20 of 28 passes for 311 yards and four touchdowns, with one interception, in a 38-31 victory over Dallas last Thursday. In the same game, Morris rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries.
Other nominees for the award are Indianapolis receiver T.Y. Hilton (33 receiving yards and a touchdown, and 111 yards in punt returns, including a 75-yard return for a touchdown), Cleveland’s Trent Richardson (29 carries for 85 yards and a touchdown) and Miami’s Ryan Tannehill (18 of 26 passes for 253 yards and a touchdown in a 24-21 win over Seattle).

Griffin also was nominated for the moment of the week for leading the Redskins to victory over the Cowboys and Eagles after falling to 3-6 on the year.
