Eagles Coach Andy Reid announced Monday that an MRI exam revealed that Foles suffered a hairline fracture of his throwing hand late in the first half. The injury was not detected by an initial X-ray, according to Reid.
Foles won’t play in this weekend’s regular season finale against the New York Giants, Reid said. Michael Vick likely will start the game for the Eagles, he announced.
Foles, a rookie, threw for 345 yards against the Redskins. But he made a low throw for an incompletion in the final seconds when he had wide receiver Jeremy Maclin open in the end zone. The Redskins held on to win, 27-20. Foles said after the game his hand injury did not affect his performance during the game.
