Nose tackle Chris Baker has signed his restricted free agent tender, making official the deal that the team tendered him before the start of free agency.

Baker’s contract is worth $1.323 million for one season. He announced the signing via Twitter.

“Thank you Lord for continuing to bless me and allowing me to live out my dream its official just signed my contract I’m back,” Baker tweeted, with the inclusion of a photograph of him signing his deal.

Officially listed as a three-year veteran, Baker had played in only two games from 2009-11. Then last season, he appeared in 14 games, serving as backup to starting nose tackle Barry Cofield. Baker recorded 15 tackles and a pass deflection.

The 6-foot-2, 333-pound Hampton product also saw some time as a backup defensive end and on special teams.

Baker was one of five of six restricted free agents retained by Washington. The team managed to work out longer-term deals with fullback Darrel Young, tight end Logan Paulsen, long-snapper Nick Sundberg and linebacker Rob Jackson, however. The Redskins didn’t make an effort to retain return man Brandon Banks.
