Redskins defensive lineman Adam Carriker confirmed that he will have a third surgery on his problematic right quadriceps tendon Thursday.

Carriker missed the bulk of last season after tearing the tendon early in Washington’s second game.

Carriker had to have a second surgery on the area earlier this offseason.

It wasn’t immediately clear what complications required a third procedure.

“I will not be stopped! #Driven,” Carriker said in a text message Wednesday night.

News of his surgery was first reported by CSNWashington.

Carriker, one of the team’s top run stoppers, was already expected to open training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

Second-year pro Jarvis Jenkins took over as the starter at left defensive end last season and enters camp as the starter once again.
