RICHMOND — Cornerback Josh Wilson and offensive lineman Maurice Hurt will both open training camp on the Redskins’ Physically Unable to Perform list, the team announced.

Meanwhile, the team announced Thursday morning that they have waived safeties Jordan Bernstine and Devin Holland.

Wilson, a seventh-year veteran, had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder this past offseason. He didn’t take part in any of the offseason practice sessions, but worked instead on the side with trainers.

Hurt, meanwhile, had to have arthroscopic knee surgery this offseason in May. He was didn’t take part in any offseason work.

Adam Carriker, who Thursday morning had surgery on his right quadriceps tendon, also is on the Redskins PUP list.

It wasn’t immediately clear how long any of those players will be sidelined. The Redskins could activate a player from the preseason PUP list at any time.

With Wilson out during the summer, rookie David Amerson and second-year pro Richard Crawford got the majority of the work at right cornerback. Hurt is expected to compete for a backup guard/tackle spot.

Bernstine, a seventh-round draft pick in 2012 out of Iowa, tore his right ACL, PCL and MCL in last year’s season opener. He spent the offseason working to return to full strength. Holland signed with Washington in January.
