Redskins cut backup FB Eric Kettani

The Redskins cut back up fullback Eric Kettani, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed.

The team must trim its roster to 75 players by 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Kettani, who spent last season on Washington’s practice squad last season, was slotted behind third-year starter Darrel Young on the depth chart.

Kettani has a unique story, as an officer in the Navy reserve. This summer he received a promotion to lieutenant, and the ceremony was held at Redskins Park.

Washington didn’t need two fullbacks, however. Tight end Logan Paulsen often is used as a backup fullback.
