September 20, 2013

Redskins center Will Montgomery has been fined $10,000 for an illegal block on Green Bay Packers defensive lineman B.J. Raji last Sunday, a league source confirmed. Meanwhile, long snapper Nick Sundberg drew a fine of $7,875 for an unnecessary roughness call in the same game.

Montgomery drew a flag for a ‘peel back’ block in the third quarter of the game. Sundberg’s personal foul came in the second quarter when he delivered a hit on Packers safety M.D. Jennings during a scuffle on a Redskins punt.

Those two fines came in the same week that strong safety Brandon Meriweather received a $42,000 fine for a helmet-to-helmet hit that knocked running back Eddie Lacy out of the game.
