Quarterback Robert Griffin III was listed as participating fully in the Washington Redskins’ practice Wednesday, three days after he exited a loss at Denver in the fourth quarter with an injured left knee. Griffin and Coach Mike Shanahan said they expect Griffin to play Sunday against the San Diego Chargers at FedEx Field.

“It felt good today in practice,” Griffin said. “So I’ll just keep seeing how it feels each day. I’ll be ready for the game, I think, and just take it one day at a time.”

Griffin, who underwent surgery on his right knee in January, was replaced by backup quarterback Kirk Cousins last Sunday after absorbing a hit by Broncos defensive tackle Terrance Knighton. Griffin said Sunday he could have returned to the game if needed. Cousins, however, finished the 45-21 defeat.

Shanahan said he noticed no lingering effects from the injury on the practice field Wednesday.

“It’s a non-issue,” Shanahan said. “I didn’t notice it today. I know he’s still probably a little bit sore. He didn’t share any of those thoughts with me today. I know he’s getting treatment but I didn’t see anything out on the field.”

According to Shanahan, safety Jose Gumbs missed the practice because of a sore ankle and wide receiver Pierre Garcon was a limited participant due to a calf injury. Safety Reed Doughty, who missed the game in Denver because of a concussion, and all other Redskins players practiced fully, Shanahan said.
